Faculty Workshops August 27 + 28

On Tuesday, August 27 and Wednesday, August 28 Emily Carr University will host a series of workshops for all new and returning faculty on topics ranging from assignment design and student feedback to supporting student diversity. Workshops will be led by ECUAD faculty and staff and are designed to be opportunities for engaging your colleagues around issues that are both timely and practical.  All regular and non-regular faculty are encouraged to attend any or all of these workshops and to take advantage of this professional development opportunity.

August 27 Workshops

  • 9:00am-10:30 am:  Assignment Design + Student Feedback (Heather Fitzgerald)
  • 10:30am-12:00pm:  Models of Research in Art + Design (Rita Wong, Katherine Gillieson, + Marian Lantin)
  • 1:00pm-3:00pm:  Encouraging Group Participation among Culturally Diverse Students (Amy Kheong)
  • 3:00pm-4:00pm:  Research Ethics in the Classroom (Lois Klassen)
  • 4:15pm-5:00pm:  ECU REB Application Clinic (Lois Klassen)

August 28 Workshops

  • 9:00am-10:30 am:  Indian 101 (Brenda Crabtree + Mimi Gellman)
  • 10:30am-12:00pm:  Teaching + Talking to the Emotionally Vulnerable (Amy Kheong)
  • 1:30pm-3:00pm:  Supporting Student Diversity through Universal Design (Heather Mitchell + Dierdre Vinyard)
  • 3:00pm-4:30pm:  eLearning Pedagogy (Jody Baker + Grant Gregson)

All workshops will take place in Room 245 of the North Building.  Light Refreshments will be served.
