Emily Carr University has 5 openings set aside for this workshop for current regular and sessional faculty . Please send an email to Grant Gregson at email@example.com with “ISWO Registration” in the heading. You must confirm your interest by Wednesday, Oct 29th.
Through participation in this online workshop, instructors develop the skills needed to effectively facilitate learning in online environments. The design is based on the Instructional Skills Workshop (http://iswnetwork.ca/) in that activities provide an authentic environment for faculty to learn about and practice skills related to facilitating and assessing learning. There are opportunities for peer feedback as well as reflection on ones’ own experiences as a participant in the course, acting in the role of facilitator.
Participants should expect to spend 8 – 15 hours during each of the 5 weeks engaged in synchronous and asynchronous activities. Continuous, active participation is necessary to make this course successful for everyone.
Enrollment is also offered to the first 12 participants currently employed at a public British Columbia post-secondary institution.
Completion of the Expression of Interest form (http://goo.gl/forms/nSxqN6unxJ), and the Pre-Workshop survey (http://survey.bccampus.ca/index.php/746661/), indicates your interest in participating in the ISWO. Enrollment is offered to the first 15 participants currently employed at a public British Columbia post-secondary institution.
