Getting Started with Moodle Workshop
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 10:00am – 11:30am
Location: Mac Lab 203C (North Building)This workshop provides an overview of the Moodle course management system: how to create activities such as forums, assignments, add course resources, and navigate Moodle.  This will be an opportunity for participants to bring in their course materials (preferably on a USB drive) and have direct assistance and tutorials for how to upload and organize their course materials for their Fall 2015 courses. Participants must have requested a Moodle course to attend. (Follow the instructions in your email.)

Using Blogs for Courses and Research (Using WordPress software)
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 10:00am – 11:30am
Room: Mac Lab 203C (North Building)
Participants will learn how to add content such as files, images and video to a potential course or research blog. Participants will also learn how to organize students to author their assignments to a blog site or how to organize their research on a blog site. Participants must have requested a Blog to attend. (Follow the instructions in your email.)

Advanced Moodle Workshop
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Room: Mac Lab 203C (North Building)
Participants will learn Moodle features such as the Workshop activity for anonymous student peer review, creating student groups, creating quizzes, adding slideshows and videos and using the Moodle grade book. The workshop will include presentations from University librarians on how to include study guides in Moodle and creating permalinks to online databases and journals. Participants must have requested a Moodle course to attend.

Faculty and staff must RSVP to tlc@ecuad.ca for attending any workshop. Please include the workshops you wish to attend.

New Moodle Shell Requests (http://courses.ecuad.ca)

  • If you need a new course shell/shells for the upcoming semester(s), please first log in to the Moodle course site at http://courses.ecuad.ca – then go to the Instructor Services drop-down menu located in the top menus of the site and select, “request a new course“. You will need to enter the full mnemonic name and title of your course. Please also copy and paste in your course summary from the main Emily Carr website course description.
  • There is also an area called “previous course info” for you to fill in with the Moodle course you are currently teaching or have taught before, whose material you would like us to bring into your new Moodle course shell.

New Blog Requests
Faculty or staff interested in having a blog setup for courses, research or their department, should send a request to tlc@ecuad.ca with the full mnemonic name and title of the course, or just title if for research or a department.
